Jess's High School Reunion

Jess's high school reunion was in mid September. Jess's parents took care of the kids while we were gone. This was the first time we had left both kids.

Fortunately, I have become good friends with a few of Jess's high school friends, so I was looking forward to it. Friday night there was dinner and a football game. It pretty much poured the entire game. Thankfully, there was an alumni tent we could camp out under. After the game, we headed to get ice cream with some of our good friends. It was such a sweet time hanging out!

Saturday morning Jess and I slept in and got ready slowly for the day (that was nice). Saturday we did a little shopping and had lunch and then headed to the Louisville Sluggers museum. Jess lived in Louisville for so many years, but had never been to the museum. It was a first for the both of us. It was a great little tour and we enjoyed ourselves. After the museum and a little bit more shopping, we headed to our good friend's parents house to change our clothes and get ready for the second part of the reunion. Jess was asked to speak at the reunion along with one of his friends/classmates. They were asked to speak on their life since high school and how the Lord had been faithful (be in mind Jess went to a Christian high school) through the past ten years even through struggles. Jess talked about how the Lord had sustained us through losing Will. Josh spoke about the Lord being faithful through the death of his dad and his wife's mom, both through cancer, and their battle with fertility. Both Jess and Josh did a great job sharing. Jess had a great time connecting with friends and I had a great time hanging out with friends and getting to know his classmates and their spouses.

It was a great weekend to get away with Jess and to go to his reunion.
