Harper is One Month Old

Time has gone by so fast. I can not believe Harper is one month old today. She continues to be a joy.
She is so pretty and petite. She is fitting into the family just perfect!

Today we had a doctor's appointment to check on her reflux. It's a bummer, but she does have reflux. We started medicine last Friday and have seen some positive results. The last few weeks have been really rough at night. She would grunt and grunt and grunt all night long, so she started sleeping in her little lamb seat at night and for naps instead of the bassinet. Since the medicine her grunting has gotten a little better. What we have seen the most progress in is her eating. She now eats more at each feeding and it shows because at the doctor today she weighed 7 lbs 4 oz.!! On Friday (just 5 days ago) she weighed 6 lbs 7 oz. This is huge! We are very thankful for this weight gain and her desire to eat more. We are still hoping to see progress in Harper's grunting and in her overall uncomfortableness after eating. We are also hoping she can start sleeping on her back again soon.

Here are a few more things about Harper:

She doesn't like to be swaddled at night, but likes to be lightly wrapped up in a blanket.
She seems to like baths (we are still doing them in the kitchen sink).
She cries almost every time you put her in her car seat, but after about five minutes she calms down.
She has reddish hair and charcoal eyes.
She is wearing newborn clothes.
She sleeps most of the day still.
She wakes two to three times in the night to eat. The last two nights she has only woken up at 3:30 a.m. and 7 a.m. after her 11:00 p.m. feeding. We are hoping she keeps this up!
She likes to snuggle and wants to be held when she is awake.
She smiles so much in her sleep and even laughed in her sleep the other day.
Is getting pretty good neck control.
Still looks like Canon.

We just love this little girl so much!

I can't believe Harper is a month old already. I am sorry that she is also struggling with reflux. I will be praying specifically for that and that she will continue to gain and take more at her feedings. She is just precious - looks so much like Canon but with her own little feminine look! I know you guys are enjoying all these moments with the two of them together! So happy for you, Rachel!
