In mid August we vacationed in Florida!
Jess and I had been looking forward to this trip for a very long time! We have been going to the same part of Florida for a while now and we just love it! Last year Canon was 8 months and even though we had a wonderful vacation we were looking forward to Canon being a little older, not hating the sand so much, and sleeping better.
The first part of the week it was just Jess, Canon, and me. Canon traveled so well (we drove this year) and was such a joy to be in the car with. We got in late that night, but still took time to put our feet on the sand and in the ocean.
The first day it rained most of the day so we relaxed in the morning and then went grocery shopping. After Canon's nap we headed to the beach and then went swimming after dinner. Jess and I enjoyed watching TV and relaxing once Canon went to bed.
The second day we had a full day out on the beach and took time to enjoy the pool as well. Canon loved the sand and enjoyed digging around with his beach toys. He also loved being in the ocean. He has no fear of the water which is very scary. He loved the waves and enjoyed when we took him out in them.
That evening we ate out at a hamburger/hotdog place.
The third day we ventured out to an old Florida town, Appalachichola. We looked around at all the shops and ate lunch at a diner where we enjoyed really good seafood. After C's nap we headed out to the beach before and after supper. That evening my parents came in to vacation with us for a few days!
