Simply Remember

The last couple days have been a little more sad for me. I have moments where I am doing just fine, but other moments that are more sad. In the mornings and at night seem to be more of a struggle for me. I guess it's before things start for the day and after things settle down I get more sad. A lot of it could be too that we are preparing for Will's burial this Saturday and there have been many things to decide and think about. We are having a family graveside service on Saturday late morning. If you could remember to pray for us that would be greatly appreciated.

Since there seems to be a lot of sad surrounding us I want to remember the things that have made me smile these past 2 weeks. Even in the midst of a devastating time in our lives the Lord has provided us with many blessings and joys.

I want to simply remember:
  • How amazing my husband has been. He has been so loving and understanding from day 1 and continues to be so helpful and attentive. So thankful for a Godly husband.
  • How sweet Canon is. I love all of his kisses and hugs - totally makes my day!
  • How wonderful it was to be pregnant with Will for 28 weeks and how precious it was to hold him in our arms, even if it was very brief. Thank you God for giving us a glimpse of William Thomas.
  • All of our friends that have gone over and beyond to bring us delicious meals. I need to take cooking lessons from some of these women.
  • Our parents that are rearranging their schedules to take care and stay with us! It's been so wonderful to see them more (and to have their help)!
  • Our siblings and their spouses that took the time to travel to see us the day we had Will without us even asking! Thankful they were there to listen to us, weep with us, and give us comic relief!
  • Our sweet sweet friends that drove hours just to come visit us, pray with us, and cry with us at the hospital! Love you Akin Family!
  • My childhood best friend, Brook who drove hours to come stay with us for a couple days. She cleaned our entire house, washed, folded, and put away our laundry, plucked my eye brows, watched girlie tv, talked for hours, and much much more! Love you Book Stickland! ;)
  • All the calls, messages, and emails we have received from dear friends (and they just keep coming). Their encouragement has been wonderful!
  • Flowers - they are all so beautiful!
  • Cards - I vow to be better at this in the future. I have been reminded how much a card can brighten someone's day. I look forward to the mail man coming every day. ;)
  • My lazy girl chair. ha! I got a new rocker/recliner/lazy boy chair. Jess calls it a lazy girl cause there is nothing "boy" about it.
  • The wonderful weather and sunshine the last few days.
  • All the thoughtful gifts people have sent or given to us (even Canon). So appreciative.
  • All the prayers that have gone out all over! It is so humbling.
  • All the comfort and grace the Lord continues to give us each day.
I know there is so many more things. I hope I didn't leave anything huge out. I am sure I did.

Thank you to all who are reading and being understanding about my feelings and raw emotions during this time.
