July was a busy month, just like the rest of the year is going to be.
The second week in July we visited Jess's oldest brother and family twice in one week. The first visit we just hung out and had a great time visiting. Canon and our niece Maggie play so well together and our youngest are three weeks apart. The second visit was for Maggie's birthday party. Canon had such a great time playing in the fountains at her party. I am so thankful I get along with and am close to Jess's siblings and their wives. I am blessed to call them family and friends.
That same week I had the privilege of visiting one of my best friend's in southern Indiana. We were sorority sisters, college roommates, and bridesmaids in each other's weddings. The visit was to visit with Kelly Jo, but also to love on her new baby boy. I absolutely loved snuggling him and catching up with Kelly and getting to know her husband. She is the friend who always has the most hilarious stories and loves to talk about the funny/awkward times we had together in college. I love her energy. She is already such a great mommy and has a beautiful baby boy. I appreciate Jess keeping the kids so I could have some time away. It was my first time to ever be away from Harper.
A few days after my trip to IN I got a text from my dad in the evening saying my mom was in the ER. After admitting her and doing some tests the next day, they came to the conclusion she had had a few heart attacks. I packed my bags and headed out early the following morning. Jess kept the kids, so I could actually have the time to help out. I stayed two nights. I was glad to be with my mom and my family as she was in the hospital and as she came home. I was able to get some house cleaning done, grocery shopping, and some meals cooked before heading home. I am thankful my mom is okay!
Two days after being home from IL, we headed to Florida for vacation. We had a wonderful week in Florida. My next few blog post will be about our time on vacation.
Here are a few more random pictures of Harper from July.
