The first weekend in December my parents came for a visit. We packed as much as we could in a short amount of time, but we sure did have a great time doing it. Saturday we woke up ready for some Christmas festivities and packed up and headed to Opryland Hotel.
First we headed to the big Christmas tree inside the hotel.
First we headed to the big Christmas tree inside the hotel.
Then we ate lunch at the pizza place in the hotel. After eating my mom and dad took Canon on a boat ride while Jess, Harper, and I saved seats for the Shrektacular show. After the boat ride they joined us to get ready for the show. We were a little worried how Canon would do since he does not like people dressed up. He did amazingly well. When Shrek came out he got really quiet and told my mom he wanted to go home, but then he got into the show and enjoyed it. He loved the Madagascar part of the show and even danced.
After the show we headed to another part of the hotel for some more kid activities. Canon loved riding these cars with the help of Pops.
Then it was time to ride the train and he was so proud that he got to ride all by himself.
We stopped by Mrs. Claus to get a picture. Canon also wanted to get a picture with santa. We were a little surprised that he wanted to sit on his lap, but he walked right up there and told santa he wanted an airplane for Christmas. We weren't able to take a picture of him on his lap.
Before heading home we walked around to see all the Christmas decorations.
We had a great time, but we were all wiped out. After grilling hamburgers and watching the Alabama game we got the kids bathed and ready for bed before heading out to look at Christmas lights. We took a few pictures of the kids in Christmas pjs before getting in the car.
On Sunday my mom, the kids, and I decided to stay home from church. After Jess and my dad got home we ate lunch and then headed out for the Christmas parade. We had never been before, so we didn't know what to expect. It turned out to be a great time. Again, we thought Canon would have a hard time with the clowns and mascots, but he did awesome. I guess he is getting out of his fear of mascots and people dressed up.
Watching policemen on their motorcycles.
Holding Miss Harper during the parade.
We truly did have a great weekend with my parents. It got us into the Christmas spirit for sure!
