Visits, Shaving Cream, Date Night, and a Wedding

Wow I don't even know where to start. A lot has been happening lately.

1.) At the end of March (25-28) Canon and I took a road trip to visit my parents. This was the first trip Canon and I had gone by ourselves. I was a little worried how Canon would do in the car, but he was a trooper there and back. We had a great visit. Canon still has a hard time going down at night when he is away from home, but once he got to sleep he slept really well. We were able to spend time with my parents, my sister, bro in law, Emma, my grandparents, and a couple friends. It was such a nice get a way. So thankful to be closer to family!!

2.) March 30th Jess and I cleaned out Will's room. It was hard....

3.) I did a fun activity with Can Man. We got cheap shaving cream and went to town on the master bathroom mirror. He loved it. He rubbed it all over the mirror and himself. He would also clap and it would go everywhere. I got right in there with him and had fun myself. It was an easy cheap activity and the clean up was simple. I had all the supplies ready to clean with and towels to wipe Canon down with in the bathroom. While I cleaned up the mirror I let Canon play in the vanity faucet (just be super super careful your child doesn't turn the water on hot).

Mommy are you sure it's okay to get this messy?

4.) One of my best friends from college (we were roommates one year) came for a visit with her sweet baby girl. We had a great time catching up and watching our kid's play together! The day she came we had a big storm and lost power. The rest of the day/evening was a little bit of a train wreck. Canon only got a 30 minute nap (due to the storm). We went out to eat in the town over since our town didn't have power. We waited for an hour to eat and the kids got to bed really late. The good news was that when we got home the power was back on and we got to watch the NCAA championship game. For the rest of the visit we cooked, ate brownies & ice cream, watched a movie, went on a walk, went shopping, and just hung out! So glad you came out for a visit Chalise! I am so thankful for good friends!

Canon was very into Brooklyn. He loved playing with her and giving her all of his kisses.

5.) This past Friday, April 1st Jess and I went out on a date! Our first dinner and movie since we moved here. Jess's parents came over to watch Canon for us and put him to bed. We went out to dinner and then went to the movies to see "Hop". It was a really cute light hearted movie! So thankful we still like to "date" each other!

6.) Wedding and Visit home. One of my childhood guy friends I grew up with got married on April 9th. He was in our wedding as an usher and I really wanted to see him get married. The wedding was in IL, so I left at noon on Saturday and met my parents at the wedding. Jess and Canon stayed in TN. The wedding was beautiful and it was good to see people I hadn't seen in a while. After the reception I drove an hour to my parent's house to stay the night. The next morning my sister and niece came over for a little while. I then packed up and came back to TN. It was so good to spend time with my family. I love living closer!

So, that's what has been going on!

You guys have had a lot going on! It look like he loved the shaving cream. Is he past the stage of putting everything in his mouth? I would love to do that with James but would be afraid he would put it in his mouth. What do you think?

Kassi,
Canon is pretty much out of that stage (for the most part). I don't think he tried to put it in his mouth. I think if James did he would probably only try it once because it would be so nasty tasting. And if he did put it in his mouth I don't think it would harm him. I guess you could always try. The shaving cream was only a dollar and I guess if it didn't work you could always use it to shave your legs. ha!
