Toys

As most of you moms know your kid has WAY too many toys. Canon has 2 toy bins and 1 toy chest. Canon's 2 toy bins are over flowing with toys and he only plays with a few the whole entire day. He goes in cycles on which toys are his favorite. Just thought I would share which ones are his favorites as of lately.

His Barn!

He loves this thing. He likes to put all the animals in the silo and then push all the things that make sounds!

I love to watch him play with this. He usually just lays on his belly and plays.

Jo Jos Bump Bump

Canon got this toy for Christmas. Boy does he love this thing. He can work it better than anyone.

He plays with it so much he wore out the first one and got another one (from his grandparents).

We have had to put it up before for a few days because he was getting a little obsessed.

Books Books and More Books

I've said it before and I will say it again. This child LOVES books.

I just bought him a few dollar books at Target today and we already read them about three times each when we got home.

Mega Blocks

What boy doesn't like blocks? I love these because I feel like he is learning a lot playing with these blocks.

He is learning how to stack, take apart, he is learning colors by me separating them into colors, and we are teaching him how to pick them up and put them back in the bag. I also love when I build a big tower and he knocks it down. He gets so tickled and laughs and then it makes me laugh. He is all boy!

He has many other toys that he likes too, but I just picked four. He has this bus and helicopter he really likes to pull around. He is really into pulling things. He also loves balls and is getting really good at throwing them to us. He also has a train that he likes. Honestly though sometimes plastic measuring cups and tupperware are just as entertaining, so I am confused why we keep giving the kid toys. :)

What are/ were child's favorite toys at this age (16 months)? I think he is good for a while, but didn't know if there was something I was really missing out there.

I do know that when we get back to a routine we are going to start having some structured time a couple times of week. I am going to go to Walmart and the dollar store and buy paints, big paper, more crayons, and whatever else I can find out there. I look forward to that!! Any age appropriate suggestions are welcomed!

Fun Post! James likes a lot of the same things. He has the same barn. He got it for his birthday and loves it! He also loves Mega Blocks! We are a little behind you guys (12.5 months), so I am not too helpful on suggestions. But I am curious to see what other people say. I need some help as far as age-appropriate art. I've heard of finger painting with pudding or yogurt (colored with food coloring), but was waiting until it got warmer and we could do it outside.
