June Overview

This summer has flown by all ready. I feel like I can not keep up with anything lately, let alone the blog. I love looking back though, so I am going to post when I can.

Here is an overview of all our happenings in June.

- Canon got glasses. He's so handsome!

- We had friends from our time at seminary come visit for a few days. Our kids played so well together and it was such an encouraging time of fellowship with them.

A night of grilling and fun on the trampoline with friends.

- Jess and I celebrated our seventh wedding anniversary. We went to the CMA Fest, ate dinner downtown, and then did a little shopping after getting rained out from the CMA Fest.

- C had his last t-ball game.
Awards ceremony to follow.

- We celebrated Father's Day. My parents came in town for a short visit. On Saturday night I prepared dinner (I did ask Jess to grill) for Jess and my dad. On Sunday after church we met some of Jess's family for a Sounds Baseball Game.

- Canon took swim lessons.
He did AMAZING! He now can swim pretty far by himself and I am so proud of him. It is amazing what a difference a year makes. Last summer during his swimming lessons, he screamed about 90% of the time. This time he never cried and he seemed to have no fear. His instructor was amazing with him. She was sensitive and sweet, but not afraid to push him.

- We celebrated our niece's birthday.

- The kids participated in Backyard Kid's Club provided by our church and a youth group from Louisville.

- We've also played a lot with friends, grilled out a ton, attended a church wide cookout, and have had some pool time.

Here are some random June photos.

Warming up in the hot tub after a swim at the pool.

Playing with tools. My kids play with their "play tools" every day.

Movie and popcorn when daddy had to work late one night.

Ready to go to the pool with his new rocket raft.

Harper getting her toe nails done for the very first time. She loved it. She is our girly girl!

Playing in the sand box.

Excited about swimming at the Rec Center.

We've had a very busy fun summer so far. Thankful and blessed to be busy and have so many fun things to do and be a part of.

Yee-haw!

In mid May we took the kids to the rodeo. The weekend prior we took the kids to the rodeo parade. C was overly excited and couldn't wait.

Harper all ready for the parade.

Now she's ready for the rodeo.

These red boots were mine as a child.

Riding the ponies before it started.

C loved the rodeo. He soaked it up. Jess took H home half way through, but I stayed with Canon to finish it out.

This girl could have cared less about the rodeo, but the snacks was a different story. She is a petite little thing, but the girl can eat. :)

So glad we were able to take the kids and create a memory. I am sure we will be back next year.

Crafting

For my birthday Jess, my parents, and sister went in to buy me the Silhouette Cameo. I love being crafty and wanted a hobby, so this is what I decided I wanted to do. I love making things for my kids and knew I would have fun with it. Thankfully I have a friend that has the same machine, so we are able to create together and bounce ideas off of each other.

Here are some of my creations. I have done a lot of paper crafts (not shown), but making shirts is by far my favorite.

This was my first shirt I did with vinyl.

Baby onesies for a friend.

Easter shirts for C and H.

Baby shower gift.

Rodeo shirt for a friend.

Made H the same shirt for the rodeo.

Rodeo shirt for C.

Made my kids and nieces and nephew shirts for the Dixie Stampede for our family vacation.

C's Fourth of July shirt.

I have enjoyed it. Now working on shirts for our beach vacation.
