Since we were going to be traveling for Christmas to both of our parent's houses, we decided to have our family Christmas on Friday, December 22nd. Jess came home from work a few hours early, so we could open presents before dinner. Harper was taking a much needed long nap, so we let Canon open his presents while she was napping. He had the sweetest reactions after realizing what each present was. It was so cute. He wanted to open up each one and play with it right then.
After Canon opened and played with his presents we ate chicken and dumplings I had prepared in the crock pot.
This face is priceless. He wanted a dream lite so badly.
His new scooter!
I wanted a picture of the not so clean living room after opening gifts. :)
After dinner and a quick game of chutes and ladders Harper woke up and Canon helped her open her presents.
Jess and I did not exchange gifts this year. We did get each other a few small treats to put in each other's stocking. Instead of buying gifts we donated money to a family who was in need this year. We don't know the family personally, but we have been touched by their story and pray for them often.
We then loaded the kids up and headed to put fresh flowers on Will's grave for Christmas. Jess picked up white and red flowers at the florist earlier in the day. We weren't going to be in town on Christmas day, so we had to do it a few days earlier this year.
We had a wonderful family Christmas together!
