Six Years

Six years ago today Jess and I had our first date! It was a group date, but none the less it was a date! Jess and I had met a couple of weeks before this group date at an All Greek Bible Study (I was an AOII and Jess was a Sig Ep). My roommate at the time (Chalise) was one of the creators of this bible study along with Jess. I came into the first bible study all flustered because I had just had one of those days. I was running late to a sorority meeting because my class had let out late, so I was running to my car and as I was reaching my beloved red saturn a bird pooped right on my head. Gross. I couldn't be late to this meeting, so I just got in my car and wiped it out with a napkin and went on to the meeting. (I did wash my hair after the meeting before I went to the bible study.) So, I bee line for Chalise and she was talking to this guy (Jess) and I don't even acknowledge him I just start talking to Chalise. I said, "you will never guess what

happened", and I proceed to tell her about the bird pooping on my head. I think Jess just

chuckled and then Chalise introduces him to me. (Jess says the first words I ever said to him was "a bird pooped on my head").I finally acknowledged him and for the rest of the evening he caught my eye. You see I had this thing for long curly haired guys for some reason and Jess had long curly hair. He also led one of the small discussion groups in the bible study so I made sure to get in his group. Something about him just intrigued me. He was so outgoing, had a great sense of humor, adorable, and loved the Lord. So I of course tell my roommate that I kind of liked him and so she took it upon herself to get us to hang out. Thanks Chalise!! Throughout the weeks we continued to talk at the bible study and then before you know it we are both told we are going on this group date (Chalise is very convincing, you don't say no to her, ha!). Anyway, we of course sat by each other and talked the entire time and even talked in the parking lot at the dorms for a really long time. And the rest is history.

Here we are a few months after we started dating in Panama City Beach, FL at Beach Project.

I think it's funny how our hair is the same!
