People Back Home

Today is a beautiful day and days like this always remind me of "home". I grew up on a livestock farm and spent a lot of my days outside, so beautiful days just remind me of my family and friends I grew up with. So anyway Jess's parents and my mom are all coming this week (not at the same time), so after taking a lovely walk with Canon (Jess is in class all day) I decided I better start cleaning. I dislike, maybe even hate cleaning the bathrooms and the scrubbing floors, so today I decided I would get the kitchen floor and the half bath done today. As I was cleaning the half bath I was thinking of my best friend Book Stickland (her name is actually Brook Strickland, but she used to call herself Book Stickland before going to speech classes, so Jess and I call her Book Stickland and I think deep down she likes it, ha!). Oh and by the way Brook and I have been best friends since we were born. Our whole family is really close: dads, moms, sisters, and Brook's brother!
Dirty bathrooms don't remind me of Brook, it was the cleaning products I was using was reminding me of Brook. Brook sent me a whole bag of "green" cleaning products as a gift a few months ago. I didn't know this but the green products you buy at Target or Walmart really aren't green. Brook's neighbors have started a "green" line of cleaning products called a Better Life. These products smell so good and do not give you a headache or make you cough and they are actually green! Actually these products even clean better than any other products I have ever used. This post wasn't supposed to be an advertisement, but I do highly recommend them! If you want more information on how you can get the products just let me know. I like the fact that the whole house doesn't smell toxic especially with having a baby and the fact that I have been cleaning and disinfecting ALOT lately due to all of the sicknesses that have been in our house.
Okay so with all the said, I was thinking of Brook. I was taking everything off of the vanity so I could scrub it down and a couple of the knick knacks I have on the vanity have lids on them. Well one of the lids came off and I saw this note inside. It was from sweet Brook from when she visited right before Christmas. I just stood there and smiled! I opened up the other knick knack to see if there was a note inside of that one and sure enough there was two! My favorite one was, "I have one last thing to say, BOOGERS!" If any of you know me really well you know that I can handle blood, poop, vomit, but I CAN NOT, I repeat CAN NOT handle boogers! It has been a stretch getting me to get the boogers out of Canon's nose or my favorite is when I go get him from a nap and he has a big one stuck to his cheek. ;)
So I just think it was cool that I was missing family and friends today and as I was doing something that I don't particularly love I got sweet notes from one of my best friends!!
I love you Brook! And I love my family and all my other wonderful friends!

Love,
Rachel
